As Light holds onto the chandelier, giving Isa a clearer view of the battlefield, his arms begin to tire from the strain. Isa, distracted, jokes about eating too much pizza, but Light quickly reminds her of the urgency of the situation. Finally, Isa uses her Appraisal skill and uncovers a startling truth: one of the undead is using the Summon skill.
Light immediately connects the dots—this undead must be the noble who once owned the mansion. Jatan, realizing they are piecing everything together, grows uneasy. At that moment, a terrifying figure appears: a Soul Reaper. Isa identifies the creature and explains that it’s an extremely dangerous monster capable of turning living beings into undead through its scythe or the black sludge it exudes. The horrifying truth becomes clear—Jatan is controlling both the Soul Reaper and the undead it created.
Jatan reveals that the noble summoned the Soul Reaper to defend his home from intruders, but things took a tragic turn. She mocks the irony of the situation: the noble, once a famous hero, was transformed into an undead by the very monster he summoned. Light is horrified as he pieces together the noble’s story. The guild had claimed the missing adventurers were ordinary researchers, but Jatan reveals that they were actually assassins sent to kill the noble.
She dives deeper into the noble’s tragic past. His Summon skill, once celebrated as heroic, was classified as a “taboo skill”—a power so great that it instilled fear in others. Over time, paranoia consumed the people and the government. They began to fear the possibility that the noble could summon terrifying monsters and use them against society. The admiration for his strength turned to suspicion, and the noble was falsely accused of treason. Ostracized and hunted, the noble fled to the remote mansion, where assassins continued to pursue him. In his desperation, he summoned the Soul Reaper to protect himself.
Jatan laughs wickedly, relishing Light’s shock and horror as she explains her master plan. By using her Necromancy skill to control a Summon user, she can endlessly command an army of powerful undead. Light, trembling, realizes the bitter truth. The noble was vilified and destroyed because of the fear surrounding his taboo skill. He can’t help but draw a comparison to his own Fruit Master skill—a power capable of acquiring countless abilities. If people were to fear its potential misuse, he could end up facing the same fate as the noble.
Jatan interrupts his thoughts with a maniacal laugh, eager to resume the battle. She declares her intention to destroy Light, but the revelations about the noble’s tragic story weigh heavily on him. Light steels himself, determined to stop Jatan and honor the memory of the noble who fought so hard to survive.
Light’s resolve is shaken as he considers the noble’s tragic fate and the heavy burden of possessing a taboo skill. The noble’s warning that Light might one day come to hate skills echoes in his mind. However, the immediate danger pulls him back to reality. He must protect Isa and Lena at all costs.
As Jatan commands her undead army for a final attack, Light notices her pattern of control: she uses necromancy to guide her minions’ repetitive movements. Isa confirms this and points out that the undead can’t adapt or act independently without Jatan’s direct commands. With this information, Light formulates a plan. He prepares his Surge Blade attack, deliberately drawing Jatan’s focus.
Jatan smugly anticipates his move, but she’s blindsided when Lena appears out of nowhere. With a swift, calculated strike, Lena eliminates the Soul Reaper. Jatan panics and commands her undead army to retaliate, but it’s too late. Lena confronts Jatan, making it clear she doesn’t want to kill her—she has too many questions that need answers.
However, the fight isn’t over. The undead noble, still standing, charges at Light, but with one decisive attack, Light ends the noble’s torment, urging him to rest in peace. As the noble’s spirit fades, he utters a chilling message to Light: “You will grow to hate skills one day.” Light, shaken but resolute, vows that he’ll never end up like the noble.
Before they can relax, Jatan forces the noble’s body to perform one last summoning. As the summoning ritual begins, Lena shouts for Light and Isa to flee, but it’s too late. The noble sacrifices all the remaining undead to summon a massive, horrifying creature—a Wicked Dragon.
The Wicked Dragon is an enormous, terrifying beast that surpasses even Jatan’s expectations. She’s thrilled at first, but her excitement turns to horror when she realizes the dragon is uncontrollable. It swipes her aside with a single blow, leaving her incapacitated. As she lies unconscious, a mysterious man appears, silently carrying her away.
Isa identifies the monster as a Wicked Dragon, a legendary creature resistant to slashing attacks and impervious to most conventional weapons. Lena, stunned, reveals that these beasts are only spoken of in legends and are considered impossible targets, even for S-rank adventurers. Light, despite the odds, believes they can win if they work together.
He charges at the dragon, using his Sword God skill and Demon Slash. To his dismay, the dragon’s scales prove impenetrable, and his sword is shattered in the process. Barely dodging the dragon’s counterattack, Light realizes they’re out of their depth. Running isn’t an option, as the beast would swiftly eliminate them if they tried to flee.
As despair looms, Isa reveals a glimmer of hope—she brought along a Skill Fruit. Isa explains that she thought the fruit might come in handy for emergencies, and now it’s their only chance. Lena, meanwhile, resolves to protect Light and Isa at all costs, even if it means sacrificing herself.
With no other options left, Isa urges Light to eat the Skill Fruit, pinning their last shred of hope on unlocking a skill powerful enough to turn the tide against the Wicked Dragon.
As the dire battle with the Wicked Dragon rages on, Lena warns Light about the fatal risks of consuming another Skill Fruit. However, Light reveals a secret: as the Fruit Master, he is immune to the poison of Skill Fruits and can consume as many as he wants. Despite Lena’s concerns about the randomness of the skills and the potential for conflict with his Sword God ability, they have no choice but to take the gamble.
Light eats the fruit, and pain wracks his body as the skill integrates. Isa appraises the new skill, only to find that it grants Bug Resistance, a useless ability in this fight. Light jokes about the dragon potentially being a “bug” but quickly realizes it’s a lost cause. Meanwhile, Lena valiantly defends against the dragon’s relentless attacks, but her strength is waning.
Desperate, Light demands two more Skill Fruits, ignoring Isa’s warnings about the cumulative side effects. He eats both simultaneously, enduring excruciating pain. The first skill, Cat Charmer, is utterly useless in battle, though Isa secretly wishes for it. The second, Weapon Durability Boost, would have been helpful earlier but is of little use now since Light’s sword is already broken.
As Light writhes in pain, Lena’s sword shatters during her next attack, and she is hurled into a wall by the dragon’s brutal counter. The beast prepares to finish her, leaving Light no choice but to risk one final Skill Fruit. He consumes it, bracing for the worst. Pain floods his body again, but this time, something extraordinary happens.
The skill Light gains is Sleep Pixie, which allows him to summon a pixie whose scales put creatures to sleep. Light quickly sends the pixie toward the dragon, but its rampage prevents the scales from reaching it. Thinking fast, Light devises a plan. He picks up his broken sword and reminds the girls that he’s the Sword God. Even broken, a sword in his hands is a weapon of immense power.
Using his Weapon Durability Boost skill, Light fortifies the fragments of his sword and throws a piece with pinpoint precision, destroying the mansion’s roof. As rubble falls, Light climbs it to get above the dragon. He positions himself directly over its face, bringing the pixie close enough to release its scales. This time, the dragon can’t avoid inhaling them. The Wicked Dragon thrashes wildly but succumbs to sleep, collapsing to the ground.
The group celebrates their victory, but Light reminds them to escape before the collapsing mansion buries them. Lena grabs something important before they rush out, narrowly avoiding being trapped. Outside, Light declares it’s time to head home, eager to claim their reward and enjoy a well-deserved feast.
Back in town, Light credits Isa’s quick thinking and Lena’s bravery for their success. The girls, however, grow alarmed when Light suddenly collapses from exhaustion.
Meanwhile, at the church, Jatan is brought before the mysterious nun. She discusses Light with a cloaked man, who admits to being surprised by the Fruit Master’s ability to defeat the Wicked Dragon. However, he dismisses Light as a non-threat to the Black Swan. The nun expresses relief but also curiosity about Light’s rapid growth. She mentions the influence of something called “the Aori” but wonders if there’s an even greater force behind his power.
As the nun contemplates Light’s potential, she ominously declares that his meeting with someone important is drawing near.
