The story opens on a rainy day as hundreds of muscled men carry a box containing Yukito, the son of a cult leader, to participate in the bizarre Musubi ritual. This ritual requires Yukito to be thrown into a raging river; if he survives for three days, he’ll become the new cult leader. Despite Yukito’s desperate protests that this is simply murder, his father merely smiles, invoking the name of their omniscient and omnipotent deity, Mitama, who he believes will protect his son. Yukito’s father then orders his subordinates to toss him into the sea.
As he sinks, Yukito’s past flashes before his eyes, recounting the day he was abducted by the cult and the subsequent, increasingly miserable years that followed. His life had become so bleak that he felt utterly numb. Losing consciousness, Yukito gives up his belief in everything, wishing that if he were to be reincarnated, it would be into a world free of deities.
His wish is granted. Yukito hazily awakens to find a girl named Aruraru fiddling with his lower body. Startled, she screams, then profusely apologizes. She works at a nearby restaurant and promises to care for him until he heals, offering him endless meals. Yukito notices his peaceful, countryside surroundings and is thrilled, believing he’s landed in a classic reincarnation story. He excitedly asks Aruraru where the adventurer’s guild is, determined to live a happy life after his past misfortunes.
However, reality quickly disappoints him. Aruraru leads him to a garden where villagers are working—his first “quest” is farming. While he wonders about the mundane nature of the task, a young man named Roy confronts him, claiming all the village girls belong to him and threatening Yukito to keep away. Roy is quickly dragged off by his friend, Clen, who abruptly asks Yukito for help. Clen hands Yukito a dagger, which makes Yukito’s eyes light up; he thinks this is his starting equipment for fighting monsters. Instead, Clen needs help harvesting grapes.
Yukito diligently works until evening, hoping this is just a beginner challenge. Clen and Roy are worried, despite the large harvest, because the grapes are difficult to preserve and will spoil quickly if not sold. To solve their problem, Yukito uses his knowledge to make wine for the villagers, producing such a surplus that they are drinking and even pouring it away.
A month passes, and Yukito’s life has been nothing but farming, tending livestock, and making wine. He is utterly bored. The next morning, his routine is finally broken when someone runs past, urging him to flee from a huge beast emerging from the forest. Yukito sees a monster, but Roy clarifies that it’s “just a wild animal.”
While they are running from the wild animal during the torrential rain, Roy pulls out a book and begins to mumble. Yukito‘s hopes soar, thinking Roy is about to cast a spell, but he is immediately let down when Roy simply grabs him and runs. An angry Yukito confronts Roy, demanding to know why he didn’t fight. Roy is surprised, explaining that a “normal person” can’t fight a wild animal, and the book Yukito saw was merely a survival guide, not a spellbook.
That evening at the tavern, Yukito finally accepts the reality that this world has no concept of magic. Noticing his thoughtfulness, Aruraru sits with him. She tells him how much happier and more open the villagers have become since his arrival and expresses her wish for him to stay with them permanently. Yukito smiles, finding this joy sufficient compensation for his past misfortunes, and thinks he should thank the gods for bringing him to this new world. Aruraru, however, looks at him strangely and asks, “What the hell is a god?” Yukito is shocked to realize this world lacks not only magic but also religion, deities, or any form of spirituality.
Later, while walking in the forest, Yukito finds an animal carcass and realizes the village also lacks a cemetery. He wonders about their burial customs without a concept of deities. Roy and Aruraru suddenly appear, and Roy excitedly whispers that he’s found a “forbidden book,” which turns out to be just an adult book.
The group then travels to the imperial capital. Roy and Aruraru educate Yukito on their surroundings, pointing out the palace where the Emperor lives—the source of all their survival and farming knowledge. They warn Yukito to freely explore but to avoid talking to citizens, as the people of the capital despise their village. They take him to a bookstore, where Yukito curiously examines the local adult literature, finding it merely contains scribbled drawings. He’s confused by Roy and Aruraru’s intense blushing reaction to the drawings.
Outside, Yukito spots a large crowd and pushes his way to the front, only to freeze in horror at the sight: a line of people deliberately taking poison to commit suicide. Aruraru quickly pulls him away, explaining that this is the Emperor’s “End of Life Policy,” a mandatory system for everyone in the kingdom. She assures him their village is exempt from following it.
That night, Aruraru sneaks into Yukito’s bed. She explains that she was practicing techniques from the adult book, which taught ways to improve a man’s health. After a moment, she calms down and apologizes. She reveals that their village, Dakini, is a refuge for strays and people trying to escape the Emperor’s “End of Life Policy.” Everyone else in the kingdom hates them, but Yukito has been kind and playful, even letting her touch him, which makes her very happy. She considers meeting him a blessing. She notices a stone around Yukito’s neck that he dismisses as a “cheap gem” given by an old man, and seeing her admiration for it, he gives it to her.
The next morning, Yukito descends to the restaurant and finds Roy gravely wounded and distraught. Roy explains that their village is a sanctuary for outcasts, and today was the day the army came to enforce the “End of Life Policy” on Aruraru and Shiruriru, who have already been taken away. Gritting his teeth, Yukito mounts a horse-drawn carriage with Clen and races toward the imperial capital. They arrive to find Shiruriru already deceased and Aruraru moments from execution.
Yukito charges the soldiers, raging that those who fear death have no right to force it upon others. The guard captain draws his sword, stating that citizens of the holy city must obey the Emperor, and strikes Yukito. Aruraru also falls. As he crawls toward her fallen body, wounded and despairing, the words of the old man echo in his mind: “God Mitama will protect you.” He questions why a god wouldn’t protect these good people. Clasping the necklace he gave Aruraru, a blinding light erupts. A small girl descends from the clouds—Mitama herself—grabs Yukito, and in a fit of anger over his injuries, instantly kills all the surrounding guards. She then uses her power to resurrect both Yukito and Aruraru.
A confused Aruraru gets up and sees the little girl perched on Yukito’s head. The girl introduces herself as Mitama, Yukito’s deity. Mitama boastfully claims she only intended to save Yukito, but having been out of practice, she accidentally resurrected everyone present. Observing the girl’s ability to bring the dead back to life, Yukito is forced to consider that she might truly be a god.
That evening, Yukito brings Aruraru and Shiruriru back to the village. An overwhelmed Roy rushes to hug Shiruriru under the guise of emotion but is rejected. A smiling Shiruriru joyfully tells the entire village that she was dead but miraculously returned to life, calling it a miracle. The village erupts in celebration.
Though the village is celebrating, Yukito sits apart, worried. While they saved two people, they have gravely offended the Emperor. Their border village has no military means to resist, leaving their only option to rely on Mitama. His thoughts are interrupted by Roy, who comes over to ask what’s wrong, only to pour wine on Yukito’s face before he can answer.
Meanwhile, in the girls’ room, Aruraru struggles to dress Mitama, who is constantly trying to escape, unable to tolerate being away from Yukito. Aruraru finally catches her and asks about her relationship with Yukito. Mitama proudly declares their relationship is eternal, where they will live together until the end of their lives. Aruraru collapses, horrified by this apparent commitment. She fears Yukito prefers little girls and vows to find a way to change his mind. Mitama pats Aruraru’s head, noting she’s observed how much the villagers love Yukito and says, “If Yukito is loved, it makes me happy, too. I hope you will continue to treat Yukito this way from now on.”
Downstairs, Yukito finds Clen to seek information about the kingdom’s mysterious “End of Life” tradition. Clen only knows that the policy was established thousands of years ago. As they talk, Mitama rushes in and bumps into Yukito. From across the table, Roy spots the little girl, exclaiming she is “so beautiful!” He jumps up, grabs her hand, and promptly proposes, only to be instantly rejected.
After the others leave, Yukito finally gets a moment alone with Mitama and asks if her power is truly strong enough to defeat an entire national army. Mitama confidently claims she only needs to “create a flood with a swirl” and tries to demonstrate immediately. She runs to a table and uses her power, producing only a cupful of wine, leaving Yukito stunned at the inadequacy of her divine ability.
Mitama is also confused. When she tries to draw a swirl on the table, a round zero appears instead, causing her to panic. She explains that a deity’s power is tied to their number of followers, and the more followers she has, the stronger she becomes. She turns to Yukito and furiously shakes him, demanding to know why even he, whom she saved, is not a follower.
At that moment, a young man rushes in with news that the imperial army has mobilized and is heading their way. Everyone remains calm, with Roy putting his arm around Yukito and declaring, “It doesn’t matter how many of them come. Yukito will definitely solve everything.” Yukito, however, mumbles and retreats to the bathtub, hands trembling, unsure of what to do.
Mitama sneaks into the tub with him, and Yukito admits he feels responsible for the village being targeted. Mitama suggests he run away, but Yukito fiercely refuses, stating he has run away too many times in his previous life and will now “live true to myself!” He then turns to Mitama and confirms that her power increases with followers. If so, he declares, he will create a deity and a religion in this world.
Their first target is Roy, who becomes Mitama’s follower with minimal effort. To successfully face the imperial capital’s army, Mitama estimates they need 10,000 followers—enough to burn down the entire kingdom. The fastest way to gain followers is through a magic demonstration, but given Mitama’s current limited power, Yukito decides to rely on a speech.
Yukito believes his past life’s training in moving the hearts of followers will be useful. Mitama, however, feels Yukito is overthinking it and insists she knows best, boasting that her billions of years of existence give her superior knowledge on swaying people. Yukito lets her try, but when Mitama stands on a rock to address the crowd, her “profound” speech consists only of childhood stories about Yukito. Frustrated, Yukito cuts her off, declaring it’s his turn.
He gathers the villagers, placing Mitama on an altar, and begins his pitch, identifying her as a deity who blesses her followers. To give a convincing demonstration, Yukito calls out Aruraru and asks if she is experiencing a difficult relationship. Aruraru is embarrassed and blushes intensely, wondering if Yukito has somehow figured out her feelings for him. Yukito, completely oblivious, is just using a fortune-teller’s trick of saying vague things that apply to anyone.
The plan is working until Mitama interrupts, ruining the setup by pointing at Aruraru and making shocking, random guesses about her problems. Back at the tavern, Yukito slams the table, complaining that his deity is useless for anything but eating. Despite this, he refuses to quit, trying more tricks to attract followers, including magic tricks and appealing to cuteness, but no one shows up. Yukito sprawls on the table, bored and discouraged, realizing how talented his old man must have been to create a cult.
As he ponders his next move, Aruraru rushes in. Yukito immediately fears the Imperial Army has arrived, but Aruraru explains that her dog, Kai, has accidentally eaten poison and is dying. Yukito suggests taking him to a veterinarian, but Aruraru and Shiruriru shake their heads, explaining that as outcasts from the capital, no one will help them.
That evening, while everyone is mourning the dying dog, Yukito returns, covered in dirt. He uses a handful of grass to make an antidote for Kai, surprising Mitama, as his selfless urgency is a side of him she hasn’t seen before. Despite his best efforts, Kai dies. Aruraru bursts into tears, but suddenly, Mitama places her hand on the table and uses her power to resurrect Kai, stunning everyone. Mitama immediately collapses, her body dried out, explaining, “With just one follower, this was all I could do.”
As soon as she speaks, power surges through Mitama’s body. Her follower count has instantly increased to three. With only three followers, her power is already extraordinary, suggesting to Yukito that her power scales based on the quality of belief rather than just quantity. He speculates that while Roy’s following is nominal, Aruraru and Shiruriru, who witnessed her divine power firsthand, generate greater strength.
Excited to have regained her power, Mitama offers to fulfill Aruraru’s wish. Aruraru asks her to resurrect the Imperial Army soldiers who were killed earlier. Mitama complies, bringing them back, including the Knight Captain, Bertrand. However, Mitama makes an error and transforms Bertrand from a man into a woman. Mitama laughs, finding the mistake amusing and even better.
Meanwhile, it is revealed that the world is secretly not without magic. In the forest, a powerful agent codenamed Atar is easily completing a mission, demonstrating exceptional strength.
Resurrected as a woman, Knight Captain Bertrand attempts to return to the holy city, but her identity is rejected by the army. Forced to camp in the forest, she is dejected, feeling abandoned by the kingdom she honorably served. Roy appears to mock her, reminding her of her earlier threat to destroy the village and then attempting to harass her. Bertrand fiercely grips her sword but cannot draw it, as her oath only permits her to use it for a righteous cause. Yukito arrives, tosses Roy aside, and directly addresses Bertrand, showing he knows everything about her, including her discarded status. Yukito offers his hand, promising to create a place where she belongs. Bertrand, despite her pride, accepts, stating that Yukito owes her a debt she will repay in this lifetime.
Village life resumes. When a wild animal attacks, a villager named Riki attempts to hold it off. Yukito and Mitama appear, and Mitama summons a legendary Kusanagi sword for Riki, which turns out to be useless and cannot even scratch the beast. As the monster approaches, the newly-arrived Bertrand intervenes, plunging her sword straight into the monster’s head and splitting it in half with a single, powerful strike. Yukito is astonished, realizing Bertrand’s sword is clearly a weapon of immense power. He decides he has acquired a valuable asset, a “useful chess piece” he intends to fully utilize.
Yukito seizes the opportunity to promote his cult, declaring that if everyone worships Mitama, they will no longer fear such trivial beasts. Aruraru helps by making wine an exclusive benefit for cult members. To boost follower numbers, Yukito begins to exploit the world’s technological backwardness. He distributes large food preservation jars—made by a wildly enthusiastic Roy—as a free gift for joining. He also hands out cookies.
Thanks to these efforts, Mitama’s followers increase to over 100 people in a single day. Yukito realizes that in a world without a concept of deities, people are easily swayed by tangible benefits. He concludes his cult will be one based on benefits rather than faith, using Aruraru and Shiruriru’s food, Roy’s labor, and Bertrand’s strength to attract more members.
After Mitama leaves, Yukito asks Bertrand how many troops would be needed to resist the Royal Army to ensure the village’s protection. Bertrand corrects his misconception: the King’s true power doesn’t come from the army but from a small, elite group of soldiers granted special powers by him. She admits she hasn’t seen them but says rumors claim they can “blow away a mountain in the blink of an eye.” Meanwhile, Atar, following the King’s orders, is already preparing to target the Dakini village.
After talking to Bertrand, Yukito rushes back to ask Mitama if she can split a mountain in half. Mitama confidently boasts that this is too simple and that with 10,000 followers, she could split ten mountains. Yukito’s face darkens, concluding she is still “too useless,” forcing him to seek another solution.
Yukito finds Bertrand again and pushes her against a tree. Bertrand blushes, expecting a perverse move, but Yukito is simply curious about her sword. He asks her to demonstrate its power, and Bertrand easily steps forward and splits a large rock in half with a single stroke. She admits she doesn’t know the sword’s principle; it’s a weapon the King grants only to certain positions, and only he knows its true power.
The next morning, Yukito privately summons Shiruriru and Clen, the two most intelligent followers, to discuss the impending royal attack. He asks if they’ve considered relocating the village. Clen firmly rejects the idea, arguing any conspicuous movement would only hasten their capture. During the conversation, Yukito learns a vital piece of information: their village, Dakini, is not unique but is simply a name for one of many similar abandoned villages surrounding the imperial capital.
Their meeting is interrupted by Roy and his group, drawn by the smell of wine, and another drinking session begins. Later that night, while Yukito is deep in thought, Shiruriru checks on him. She gently pats his head, thanking him for protecting the village, despite not fully understanding his cult. Her words remind Yukito of his old man’s advice: to rapidly grow a cult, one must take over other areas, as he did when he destroyed a rival fraudulent cult. Yukito realizes he needs to expand his influence.
He calls Clen the next morning to discuss the plan. Clen doesn’t fully grasp what Yukito is planning but reminds him that unlike the capital, the Dakini villagers are free, and Yukito should feel liberty to act.
A month passes. While on patrol, Bertrand is startled by the sudden appearance of Atar. After confirming Bertrand is the former Royal Guard Captain, Atar immediately accuses her of treason, severely beats her, and drags her deep into the forest. Atar refrains from killing her, wanting to know why Bertrand’s gender has changed.
Meanwhile, a meeting is underway in the radically changed Dakini village with Yukito, Clen, and Shiruriru. Yukito plans to acquire 10,000 more followers. Clen and Shiruriru are bewildered, noting their village only has about 2,000 people. Yukito clarifies he will now use every resource to create benefits to attract people to join the cult.
In the fields, Roy excitedly drives a harvester Yukito provided, a tool that dramatically increases the farmers’ harvesting speed. Yukito immediately informs the amazed onlookers that this “super tool” was created by Lord Mitama’s divine power and is available to all who believe. People rush to receive the tool. Yukito calls to Mitama, who is lying motionless on the ground, affectionately asking her to create more tools for her followers.
This campaign causes Mitama’s followers to surge from 100 to 900 people. Mitama feels much stronger and boasts she can now defeat the royal army, but Yukito remains skeptical. As he ponders his next move, Aruraru walks in and accidentally spills the water she was carrying, giving Yukito an idea: water access is a household necessity he can exploit. Yukito immediately designs a water pipeline for Aruraru, surprising her with tap water that negates the need to draw water from the well.
While Aruraru is showing off the tap, Shiruriru, wearing a hot bikini, shouts Yukito’s name, accidentally spraying him in the face with water. She hands out more swimwear to Aruraru and Yukito. Inspired, a huge swimming pool appears right in front of Yukito’s house, where village girls in bikinis begin to run around. Roy collapses from a nosebleed due to the overstimulation. Shiruriru pushes Aruraru in front of Yukito, who, as always, gives an indifferent compliment that still delights Aruraru.
A completely dried-up Mitama emerges from the water, complaining that while building pipelines is routine for her as the goddess of the earth, doing it for the entire village was exhausting. Mitama quickly recovers, and the follower count soars from 900 to 1,600 people. Still unsatisfied, Yukito plans a breakthrough.
That evening, Shiruriru’s store is lit up with bright electric lights, welcoming customers. Aruraru and Shiruriru, dressed in bunny outfits, greet everyone. From a hill, Yukito, Clen, and Bertrand watch the panorama. Yukito states that electric lighting is how he will show his difference, allowing them to conquer the night. Bertrand is stunned, noting that even the imperial capital is limited to oil lamps, confirming that this invention is truly unique.
Observing the electric lights, Bertrand questions Clen on how he knows so much about the imperial palace. Clen casually reveals he used to work there, taking off his shirt to show he lacks the mark of a criminal. He explains he lives in Dakini because he values freedom. Clen then asks Yukito for a clearer explanation of the “deity” concept. Yukito defines deities as entities that transcend human understanding and the laws of nature. Bertrand notes this description sounds similar to the Emperor, who seemingly knows everything about natural disasters, epidemics, and beasts.
The number of Mitama’s followers has surged to 2,000, meaning the entire village has been won over. As Yukito plans his next move, Roy rushes in, reporting that a girl is beating up Bertrand.
In the forest, Atar examines a water hose, furiously demanding Bertrand explain the origin of these advanced tools, which she claims only the Emperor or Congress can create. She receives a call from Loki, who, after hearing Atar’s report, reminds her of a past Archon who betrayed the Emperor and warns her that the Dakini village appears similar, telling her to deal with it accordingly. Atar cuts the call, intending to use force to make Bertrand talk.
Suddenly, Mitama appears and attacks Atar, declaring she is a deity and the law in this place. A furious Atar fires an energy beam, but Mitama is unscathed, surprising Atar. Mitama then summons tree people who attack Atar from all directions, quickly overwhelming her. Mitama uses her power to summon two giant vines, striking Atar hard, but Atar breaks free and escapes. Atar radiates strange hands, and Mitama, weakened, tries to end the fight by summoning a nine-headed tree snake, but Atar easily destroys the attack.
Back at the village, everyone gathers at Shiruriru’s house, worried. Yukito ordered them to stay put, but Aruraru defies the order, running out, feeling she must be by Yukito’s side.
Mitama, on her knees, is devastated that she, a deity, lost to a mere child. Yukito’s frantic encouragement gives her a tiny surge of power, and she attempts an all-out attack, summoning all the primordial deities. However, upon seeing Mitama’s current low follower count, they immediately retreat. A massive explosion follows, and a sobbing Mitama apologizes to Yukito for failing. Yukito and the others rush to embrace her. Atar, equally exhausted, retaliates by gathering an energy ball and hurling it straight at Dakini village, which explodes before Yukito’s helpless eyes.
A voice suddenly rings out, and the village is instantly and completely restored. Atar spins around to see Clen, whom she surprisingly calls Loki. Having been discovered, Clen transforms into his true form, introducing himself as Loki, one of the pillar archons. Atar angrily threatens Loki for preventing her attack, but Loki ignores her, patting Yukito and Mitama on the head. “The time is ripe,” Loki says. “Why not destroy this empire altogether?” Yukito is startled by this treasonous statement from someone who should be loyal to the Emperor.
Atar gathers her energy to kill the open traitor, but Loki suddenly moves behind her and stabs her. However, Loki merely snaps his fingers, and the wound vanishes—the stab was just an illusion. Loki turns to Yukito, telling him to come to the imperial palace. Yukito reluctantly follows, taking the bound Atar with them.
In the grand hall, Atar kneels and begs the Emperor for forgiveness. The Emperor pardons her, stating this was expected, and then addresses Yukito, mockingly saying his struggles were “truly amusing.” The Emperor reveals he knew everything Yukito was doing even from the palace, causing Yukito to sweat with fear and wonder if the Emperor is also an otherworlder who knows about deities. The Emperor continues, saying he saw many countries collapse due to the existence of deities and built his empire to prevent this through control and regulation.
As Yukito listens, Mitama knocks over a pillar, causing a loud noise. She points at the throne, sensing something strange. The room instantly transforms, and the Emperor is revealed to be a dry skeleton.
Loki finally speaks up, confirming Mitama’s detection. He steps up to the throne, kicks the skeleton away, and sits down. He reveals that the Emperor has been dead for a long time, and all empire affairs are operated from this room and this device. Loki explains that the dead Emperor handed administrative power to him, but he still doesn’t understand the machine’s mechanism. He shows Yukito the device, revealing that the entire empire has been successfully operating autonomously by machines for what may be hundreds of years.
Still seeing Yukito confused, Mitama laughs and reveals the world’s hidden history. She explains that the country faced extinction tens of thousands of years ago, and a group of self-proclaimed intelligent people used their power to create a world that would never perish. Because of this, their faith in deities faded over time. Yukito urgently asks what this world is. Mitama answers, “Isn’t it obvious? This is Earth, just in the future. You prayed to the deities to let you live in a world without gods. So Mitama brought you here.“
Loki steps down and tells Mitama it’s time to destroy the control room, which would abolish the End of Life regime and all imperial rule. Atar objects, but Loki is tired of serving a ruler who’s been dead for a long time.
Suddenly, Yukito kicks Loki and forces him to reveal his true purpose. Yukito had noticed that the Archons couldn’t use their powers in this room, realizing that Loki needed Mitama’s power. Loki confesses he has long been sick of the End of Life regime, which people so foolishly accepted. He had checked the dead King’s documents and discovered the King also once lived in a world where people worshipped deities. Loki then infiltrated the Dakini village, finding it offered the freedom the imperial capital lacked, but realizing its residents would eventually face the duty to end their lives. Yukito’s arrival, his talk of deities, and his creation of unprecedented objects gave Loki hope. He witnessed Mitama’s appearance and the start of the cult.
Loki admits he proposed the cult’s core doctrine, or slogan: “Live truly free.” Yukito had loved the idea and incorporated it. Mitama then warned Loki not to use her “female form” to seduce Yukito, shocking Loki. This was the moment he truly believed Mitama was a deity, as she saw through his perfect disguise.
Loki further informs Yukito that the Archons were created by the Emperor in the model of deities and can also increase their power with followers, a fact he tested in another Dakini village. Loki reasons with Atar, revealing the other Archons agree with his plan, proving they are also tired of the regime. He proposes to destroy this world to birth a world of deities. Yukito agrees, sheathing his knife and calling for Mitama to act.
Mitama uses her power to destroy the imperial palace, from which a massive ancient tree grows. Yukito knows this action will soon cause the Archons to fight each other for power, but dismisses them as “just fakes, never comparable to the real Mitama.”
Yukito’s group returns to the village for a grand celebration, now free from the threat of the army and the End of Life duty. Yukito complains that everyone is too carefree. Loki appears, agreeing that the current situation is actually worse than before. Loki advises Yukito to care more about himself and hints this might be their last casual conversation, saying she wants a farewell drink with her old teammates.
A drunken Roy approaches Loki, excited by her feminine appearance. Loki guides Roy’s hand to her chest and makes suggestive noises, making Roy’s face turn red. However, this is just a Loki-created illusion; Roy is actually touching Riki. Loki laughs with satisfaction, then notices Yukito’s serious expression, confirming Yukito is preparing for confrontation with the Archons. Mitama jumps up, declaring she’ll show the “fake gods” the power of a “true deity.” Yukito mocks her for losing once already, and Mitama quickly retorts it was due to her unstable form.
Loki finishes her drink and prepares to leave, gently reminding Yukito that Atar can no longer use her weapons since the capital’s machines are destroyed, and Yukito can deal with her however he wishes. Yukito responds, stating he doesn’t care what Loki or the other Archons do. He only wants to protect the village, and if Loki targets it, he will use any means necessary. Atar lies collapsed in a corner, crying out for the King. Aruraru appears and offers her ice cream.
Outside, Bertrand intercepts Loki, vowing to fight her if she intends to target the village. Loki smiles and snaps her fingers, reverting Bertrand to his male form. While Bertrand rejoices, Loki snaps her fingers again, confirming that unlike Atar, she can still use her powers at will, and Bertrand is no match for her. Knowing he can’t win, Bertrand decides to follow Loki to the Imperial Capital to prevent her from acting unchecked.
As the grand drinking session ended, a very drunk Shiruriru left Atar, who was still lying motionless, in Yukito‘s care. Yukito approached Atar and offered his hand, encouraging her with the promise that they would fight the Archons together and restore the empire, noting that her and Loki’s terrifying powers could be controlled to reinstate the Congress’s system. Because of her childlike psychology, Atar was easily convinced, establishing an alliance. Yukito then solidified their bond by getting and personally feeding Atar ice cream. Aruraru witnessed this, collapsed in disappointment, and misinterpreted the act as Yukito having a preference for “Dakini-type” girls.
The next morning, Yukito announced the cult would adopt a dual deity system. Immediately, over half of Mitama’s followers defected to Atar. Yukito had Atar demonstrate her power, and she effortlessly pierced a huge rock, confirming her superior combat ability and making her a strong strategic asset for territorial expansion.
Yukito’s strategy was soon put into action when Atar saved three farmers from a monster near the group’s BBQ feast. The farmers, drooling over the rare beef and wine, were receptive as Yukito boasted about his village’s amenities—electricity, water pipelines, and delicious food that even the imperial capital lacked. He offered these benefits on the sole condition that the entire population of their Dakini village worship Mitama as a deity. This successful campaign conquered a third Dakini village, boosting Mitama’s followers to nearly 3,000.
Yukito then turned his attention to the other Archons. Shiruriru found a rumor about a girl named Dakini who claimed to be a deity and was establishing a cult aiming for 10,000 followers. Atar only knew that Dakini’s abilities were related to love. Yukito prevented Mitama and Atar from attacking, proposing a better method: infiltrate the cult internally and take control.
A planning meeting with Shiruriru, Roy, and Aruraru was held. To resist the risk of brainwashing, especially given Dakini’s power over love, Yukito decided to give them a training session about sex. After the lesson, only Roy and Aruraru followed, as Shiruriru, despite her usual openness, was too embarrassed and ran away.
The group quickly arrived at Dakini’s headquarters, which looked like a dazzling love hotel. They were greeted by Rishu, the Vice President, who attracted attention wherever she went, and who the group observed was awkwardly giving advice to a follower. Due to the cult’s rules, the group had to be split into two male-female pairs to meet the leader: Yukito and Aruraru would go first, while Mitama and Roy waited. Sitting on the mat, a nervous Yukito warned Aruraru to be careful, as he believed the deity Dakini was a human-flesh eater.
The door opened, and the leader, a surprisingly cute girl, entered. She instantly agreed to let Yukito join and quickly left, making the process smoother than expected. However, as soon as the door closed, trouble erupted: Yukito’s body heated up, and Aruraru pinned him down, demanding sex. Yukito fought to stay calm, concluding this must be Dakini’s power since he had been careful not to ingest any aphrodisiacs.
A loud noise suddenly rang out as Mitama kicked Roy’s mouth through the wall from the next room, claiming Roy had tried to molest her. A mortified Roy immediately fled.
Outside, Dakini met with Rishu and delegated the management of the new disciples. Rishu went to Yukito’s room to check the damage and accidentally witnessed Mitama using her power to fix the broken wall. A startled Yukito slammed Rishu against the wall to silence her, but the physical contact caused Rishu’s face to flush, her hands and feet to fumble, and she muttered confusing things before reaching a climax.
A while later, a bound Rishu regained consciousness. After learning Mitama was a deity, she immediately knelt, begging Yukito’s group to help her eradicate the “evil cult.”
Bertrand followed Loki to the Imperial Capital, which, while physically intact, was decaying. Loki pointed out alleys filled with uncollected corpses from illness, explaining that since the Congress dissolved, no one managed basic services, and citizens lived soullessly out of habit. Loki felt the city would soon perish and had to act before the other Archons outmaneuvered her. Loki created illusions of Atar and Dakini to explain that Archons are of two types: destructive (like Atar) and those with the power to transform and manipulate hearts (like Loki and Dakini). Loki remained confident she would be the last one to ascend to Divinity.
Back at the Dakini cult, the followers caught the escaping Roy and brought him to the cult leader. Meanwhile, Rishu obediently told Yukito’s group everything, claiming she joined the cult due to a misunderstanding after villagers labeled her a “sex maniac” for reading forbidden books. She wanted to cooperate with Yukito to destroy the cult. Yukito, though hesitant about Rishu’s truthfulness, agreed to the alliance, realizing the strategic value of an internal helper. Aruraru and Rishu quickly became friends, exchanging forbidden book information. Suddenly, a distraught Mitama screamed, crying that her follower count was decreasing at a dizzying rate.
In the Dakini village, Riki’s group and the farmers worked together to temporarily tie up a much larger wild beast. They struggled until the net was shredded, but it was enough time for Atar to step in. With a single energy blast, Atar obliterated the beast and the mountain behind it. Shiruriru praised Atar, making the little Archon feel more at ease. Atar noticed her power had increased, while Shiruriru deflected her question about why she didn’t join Yukito’s group, claiming she had to protect the village.
Back at Rishu’s cult branch, Rishu introduced the new recruits, Yukito and Aruraru, to the followers, who quickly invited them to practice. After Rishu shooed them away, Yukito asked her for crucial information about the cult leader, Dakini. Rishu revealed that Dakini was rarely at the branch because she had established cults in many villages and would be gone for one to two weeks.
With this information, Yukito immediately formed a plan. He turned to call Mitama, who was lying face down, complaining that her followers had plummeted from 3,000 to just 500. Yukito, recognizing this was a common cult phenomenon caused by Mitama’s absence, sighed but asked for her help, promising he would seriously become her follower afterward. Mitama immediately became energized and ready to assist.
At another Dakini branch, the cult leader was pleased with her increasing followers but confused by the lack of corresponding power increase. She was then accosted by a group of men showing off items like Viagra and vibrators, which she learned were provided by Rishu.
Back at Rishu’s branch, Rishu was holding an extra class, teaching followers how to use the “tools” she provided, claiming it would help them reach Lord Dakini’s level. The plan was working smoothly, as followers from other branches were attending Rishu’s class, and she was quickly gaining trust over the frequently absent leader. Yukito realized he had to act fast before Mitama’s followers hit zero.
Dakini suddenly appeared and confronted Rishu, accusing her of betrayal for providing items she never authorized. Rishu firmly denied any betrayal. At this point, Yukito’s plan took effect: other followers spoke up in Rishu’s defense. Dakini realized why her power wasn’t increasing and ordered her subordinates to capture Yukito’s group and Rishu.
In a complete surprise, Roy appeared as one of Dakini’s followers and punched Yukito in the stomach. Roy, now completely devoted to Dakini and operating under the code name Jar King, had been recruited and was quickly dragging the group outside for trial.
Dakini grabbed Rishu’s face and demanded to know why she acted the way she did. When Rishu couldn’t speak, Dakini ordered the executioner to behead Yukito first. This prompted Rishu to finally speak, bursting into tears and lamenting that her actions were due to her overwhelming devotion to the cult leader. She claimed she wanted to be exactly like Dakini, to understand, learn, and spread the teachings to followers. She declared she was willing to die to prove her loyalty. Rishu’s tearful performance moved the followers, who pleaded with Dakini to spare her, convinced of Rishu’s noble character.
Yukito smiled, knowing this was the successful result of a private acting lesson. Hours earlier, Yukito had trained Rishu for just this scenario, predicting Dakini’s interrogation. Rishu’s talent was so great that her performance even moved Yukito to tears.
Back in reality, with the crowd clamoring to spare Rishu, a conflicted Dakini noticed Yukito’s smile and realized he was the puppeteer manipulating the situation. With no choice, she had to disperse the crowd and halt the public trial, though she ordered Roy to imprison Yukito’s group. Yukito tried to reason with Roy, but his friend had been completely brainwashed, which proved futile.
After Roy left, Yukito’s group was trapped. The walls were too strong, and Mitama was out of power. Suddenly, a group of muscular men appeared. Rishu recognized them as the purge group who had been with Dakini since the beginning and realized they were likely sent to eliminate them.
The story flashes back to Dakini’s origin: created with the power of love, she initially thought her mission was to increase the human population. The Emperor, however, ordered her to use her power to erase human love to prevent citizens from having children at will, insisting that artificial reproduction was sufficient. He believed desire and freedom were unnecessary, and everything had to be ordered according to his command. Dakini spent years fulfilling her mission. One day, she realized that the citizens she was targeting had already lost the ability to reproduce naturally, meaning she, too, had become obsolete and discardable.
In an attempt to hold onto influence, Dakini wrote books teaching about gender and sex, selling them in the capital to stimulate curiosity. These became known as forbidden books. Much later, Dakini met Toka, a strange little girl sitting under a bridge reading a forbidden book, who was unlike all the other citizens because she was born with love in her heart. Toka was considered a freak but was cherished by Dakini, who preferred people who lived freely according to their aspirations.
However, the good times ended when the Congress banished Toka to a Dakini village. Fearing Toka would reach adulthood and start a family, the Congress eliminated her on a rainy day several years later. Holding Toka’s corpse, Dakini cried for the first time since her creation and decided to restore the world to its original law, where humans could freely live, love, and have children.
Back in the present, the purge men broke the prison bars. As a sweating Yukito panicked, a loud explosion signaled the arrival of Atar and Shiruriru to rescue them. Mitama, lying on the ground, looked up to see that Atar’s followers had soared to 6,000. Atar launched an attack that blew away the purge group. Yukito shouted for everyone to run. As they fled, a purge man grabbed Rishu. In a critical moment, Aruraru picked up Rishu’s vibrator and stabbed it into the purge man’s body, creating an opportunity for everyone to escape.
During their escape, Mitama complained about Atar’s follower count. Yukito used this moment to finally explain his entire plan. He confirmed that a deity loses power when absent from their followers, which is why Mitama’s count decreased. Those followers transferred to Atar because she stayed behind to protect the village. Yukito revealed his plan had two steps: first, infiltrate Dakini’s organization to reduce her fighting power, and second, concentrate all power on the combat-oriented Atar. Yukito’s goal was a victory through conquering Dakini’s cult by force.
The group rushed into a room where Dakini was waiting, realizing that Yukito was the person Loki had warned her about. Yukito immediately called for phase two of his plan. Atar instantly appeared and shot Dakini into the wall, while Rishu grabbed Mitama and fled through another route. Atar stepped forward, declaring that Dakini must be punished for opposing the Congress and Emperor. Dakini was unphased, taunting Atar that those institutions no longer existed. She attempted a sneak attack on Atar, which failed. Atar, taking pity on her former teammate, only intended to incapacitate Dakini. This angered Dakini, touching her pride. She unleashed her true power, revealing her shocking follower count: 14,000, which was double Atar’s number, causing Yukito to freeze.
As Rishu carried Mitama away, she explained they had to follow Yukito’s plan, whose success now depended entirely on Mitama. Back in the room, Yukito’s group was at an extreme disadvantage. Dakini, riding a giant skull, hit them with an energy beam that left a mark on their stomachs, stimulating their sexual instinct. Shiruriru, Aruraru, and even Atar instantly lost their reason, crawling toward Yukito to “share the cake,” and Yukito’s own sanity began to fade.
Just as Yukito was about to succumb, a huge vine burst from the ground, separating them. Mitama had returned, followed by Rishu and a new group of followers. Rishu began her sermon, convincing the followers that they should now worship Mitama because of the love experiences and sexual tools Mitama (via Rishu) had provided.
The balance of the battle instantly shifted as Dakini’s followers dropped dramatically and were transferred to Mitama. Dakini remained confident, but as soon as she spoke, her skull mount and the sexual marks on Yukito’s group vanished. A confused Dakini realized something was wrong. Mitama smirked, explaining that a fake deity couldn’t compare to a real one. From her earlier battle with Atar, Mitama had realized that Archons only borrowed a deity’s power. Mitama had to personally meet the real deity Dakini, kowtow, and beg her to withdraw the power being used by the Archon.
Dakini didn’t believe it and rushed to attack, but Atar intercepted her. Knowing she couldn’t match the combat-type Archon, Dakini turned to flee, leaving Roy to block their path. In a crucial moment, Roy suddenly betrayed Dakini. It turned out that while in prison, Yukito had slipped Roy a note reminding him that the most dangerous situations were the best times to win a girl’s heart. Seeing Mitama as the vulnerable girl, Roy chose to switch sides.
The battle ended when Atar landed a final strike on Dakini, who lay motionless, unable to believe she had lost. But the fight wasn’t over. As Dakini tried to stand, Rishu appeared, holding a book she always carried, which was revealed to be Toka’s. Toka, Dakini’s cherished friend, was Rishu’s mother. Dakini looked at Rishu, seeing the resemblance to Toka, and remembered Toka’s wish to meet someone she loved, marry, and have children. Realizing she was now harming Toka’s child, Dakini burst into tears, apologizing to Rishu for the pain she caused.
Soon after, Dakini was tied up and imprisoned. She remained defiant, telling Yukito to do whatever he wanted. Yukito had one request: Dakini must announce to all her followers that they should worship Mitama as their new deity. Dakini refused, forcing Yukito to make some threats before leaving.
The very next day, Rishu appeared in Dakini’s cell. To Dakini’s shock, Rishu had a rope and was using it to control and drag Yukito, who appeared to have been “tamed.” Rishu then began to brutally beat Yukito in front of Dakini, repeatedly demanding he make a “pig’s oink,” whipping him whenever he failed to comply.
After brutally torturing Yukito, Rishu approached Dakini and untied her. She earnestly proposed they restore the cult together, asking Dakini to hand over all her followers to her. Rishu vowed to strictly lead them and bring the cult to new heights. Dakini, deeply moved by Rishu’s performance and influenced by Rishu being Toka’s daughter, immediately agreed, handing over full authority.
It was revealed that after escaping prison, Yukito held a private meeting to discuss how to absorb Dakini’s followers. Rishu came up with a unique idea. Before Yukito could fully grasp it, he was tied up, and the acting rehearsal began, with him as a lustful pig and Rishu, Aruraru, and Shiruriru as the trainers. This carefully staged performance had successfully deceived Dakini.
As the group traveled back to the village, Mitama checked her follower count and gleefully announced she had reached 10,000 followers, boasting that she would lose to no one. These followers were the ones Dakini transferred after entrusting Rishu with the cult. However, Yukito harbored a suspicion that Dakini knew about their deception but deliberately played along.
Their vehicle was suddenly blocked by a wild beast, which Atar immediately eliminated with a strike. Mitama was confused to see that Atar’s follower count was still greater than hers. Atar, though unsure of the source of her increasing power, confidently stated she would lose to no one and would soon restore the empire.
As Atar boasted, a massive herd of wild beasts appeared. Atar quickly panicked, realizing the numbers were beyond her control. Mitama managed to create a barrier just in time to protect the group as the animals rushed their vehicle. Yukito broke out in a sweat, realizing the herd was coming from the direction of their village.
The group rushed home only to find a pile of ruins. Fortunately, Riki and other young men ran up, revealing that Shiruriru had prepared shelters, allowing everyone to survive the disaster. Aruraru sadly picked up the sign of her destroyed shop, and Shiruriru rushed to comfort her, promising they would restore everything.
Yukito immediately went to Mitama, urging her to use her power to restore the village, knowing her 10,000 followers gave her more than enough power. Mitama flatly refused, saying that restoring the village would cost her all her newly gained power, which she didn’t want to lose again. Yukito and Atar pleaded with her, and the entire village joined in, cheering and flattering Mitama. Though reluctant, Mitama eventually used her power to restore the village completely.
On a nearby hill, the person who had commanded the wild beasts to attack Dakini village was thrown and attacked by the animals she commanded.
As Mitama feared, restoring the village consumed her power, and her 10,000 followers vanished. Shiruriru brought wine to thank Mitama and Yukito. Yukito declined the thanks, acknowledging the fragility of their cult, which was built on benefits rather than faith. He stated that restoring the village was a necessity because losing the benefits would cause the cult to fall apart entirely. “This was the weakness of their cult.”
While Yukito pondered his next move, Riki rushed in to report the village was under attack by wild beasts and Roy was in danger. Roy, carrying an injured girl, was cornered. Just as a beast closed in, Atar saved him. Roy put the girl down, and upon seeing her injury, began a speech asking permission to remove her clothes to check the wound, earning him an immediate kick to the mouth.
The girl, complaining she was injured, was acting strangely. Yukito, suspicious, risked Atar’s life by having her approach. The girl instantly jumped forward and kissed Atar, causing Atar to faint in shock. After the kiss, the girl introduced herself as Gia, an Archon with the ability to control wild beasts. She had come with a life-or-death proposal for the Dakini village. Yukito immediately threw Mitama at Gia, rushed forward, and knocked her to the ground, holding a rope firmly. He threatened to eliminate her if her dangerous power targeted the village, but a frightened Gia insisted it was a misunderstanding.
Gia was brought to the restaurant. Mitama, seeing Gia’s mere two followers, mocked her relentlessly. Gia explained that her low follower count prevented her from fully using her power and often resulted in the wild beasts attacking her instead. Her sole purpose was to form an alliance with Yukito to defeat Archon Loki, who she believed initiated the fighting and had a comprehensive plan for victory.
The next day, the group scouted the Imperial Capital, finding a massive towering wall that hadn’t been there before. Yukito looked up in sweat. Gia stopped Mitama from testing the wall’s hardness, placing her hand on the ground to create a wild beast for scouting. The beast was instantly shot down from the top. As Gia explained this was the price for crossing the wall, Bertrand rushed out, pointed his sword at Yukito, and declared he would defend the capital. Before he could look imposing, Bertrand tripped and fell flat, then begged Yukito to just kill him out of embarrassment. Aruraru ran to help Bertrand, intending to bring him back to the village.
At that moment, Loki suddenly appeared, putting her arm around Yukito’s shoulder. Yukito, unfazed, stabbed a sword into her throat, knowing it wasn’t Loki’s real form. Loki frowned, asked Yukito his intentions, and mocked Mitama as “divine waste.” Mitama, enraged, boasted she already had 10,000 followers.
“Oh, is that so?” Loki countered by showing her own strength: she now had 1.12 million followers, a number that terrified Mitama, who hid behind Yukito. Yukito, however, calmly patted Mitama’s head. “1.12 million. That’s less than what I predicted. This scouting seemed a bit redundant.” He called for everyone to return, then turned back to gently warn Loki not to do anything excessive or she would die. The group left, leaving a confused Loki behind.
Back at the village, Yukito finally sighed with relief, admitting he was just bluffing earlier; 1.12 million was an overwhelming number, and they were only safe because Loki hadn’t been smarter.
Yukito asked Bertrand about the situation in the Capital. Based on the information, Yukito realized Loki had replaced the Emperor and used her power to subdue the citizens as followers. For Yukito, this massive number was actually a fatal flaw: these followers belonged to the Emperor, not truly to Loki. This was her weakness, and he had a plan to exploit it. Pulling out a pair of black sunglasses, Yukito declared: “The idol production plan officially begins.”
Yukito swiftly put his plan into action. A band named Worship the Deity Mitama was officially born, featuring Atar, Aruraru, Shiruriru, and Gia. Yukito stood on the sidelines, coolly adjusting his glasses. Mitama lay flat beside him, complaining, “How could it be like this? Why am I not the one on stage? No matter how you look at it, this doesn’t look like a cult. It’s just a band and a group of fans.”
A few days earlier, when Yukito explained the plan, Mitama assumed she would be the main performer, but Yukito dashed her hopes, declaring that trying to make Mitama a deity early on was a mistake he didn’t want to repeat. He ignored her protests and asked Aruraru if anyone knew about music. The group was dumbfounded, asking if music could be eaten, revealing the concept was completely absent from their world—likely suppressed by the Imperial Capital. Yukito saw this as an opportunity to reintroduce music, which he immediately began rehearsing with Aruraru’s group. Bertrand tried to participate but showed absolutely no talent and was instantly kicked out.
Back in the present, Yukito watched his achievement, satisfied that music, conveyed by him, would create a wave that people would follow. Despite Mitama’s complaints, her power suddenly increased, even though her follower count hadn’t. Yukito explained this was a practical experiment confirming his theory: the increase came from the cohesion of the church. Their cult, initially built on benefits, was weak, but music dramatically increased the faith and bond between members. With this newfound power, Mitama wanted to challenge Loki immediately, but Yukito stopped her, needing to resolve one more matter.
Yukito returned home, where Bertrand was crying, feeling useless. Yukito was harsh, pointing out that Bertrand couldn’t play instruments, sing, or dance. Crying even harder, Bertrand begged him not to abandon her and promised to do anything. Yukito, waiting for this, gave her the mission to monitor all of Gia’s actions. Bertrand snuck onto Gia’s vehicle and followed her. She observed Gia pretending to fall to get two children to help her up, then inviting them home for candy, but the smart children refused. Later, Bertrand rushed to save a little girl from wild beasts, but Gia took care of the animal first and then tried to invite the girl home, who ran away in fear. Bertrand followed Gia all the way to her house, where she saw many children greet Gia, calling her mother and showing great affection. Bertrand reported back, and Yukito concluded that Gia’s cult was established as a family, with Gia as the head. To defeat Gia, Yukito planned to usurp the head of the family position by calling in his secret card.
The next morning, as Yukito waited, Bertrand rushed out and attacked him, cutting his clothes and aiming for his groin with abnormal sexual aggression. Yukito shouted for Dakini, and Rishu slapped Dakini’s butt, telling her to deactivate the power. Bertrand immediately returned to normal, cried from embarrassment, and ran away. Dakini teased Bertrand and then threatened Yukito, reminding him she was not his henchman and only showed up out of respect for Rishu. Rishu clarified that Yukito and this new concept of music had interested Dakini, and she was helping as a matter of give and take.
They quickly moved to the main issue: Yukito needed Dakini to confront and eliminate Gia. Dakini quickly got to work, approaching Gia’s children while they fetched water and befriending them. Meanwhile, a suspicious Gia was deliberately kept busy by Yukito and Mitama, who criticized her poor drumming and forced her to stay for practice, preventing her from checking on the kids.
Dakini quickly won the affection of the younger children, but the two oldest, Kai and Cyan, held back. While returning from hunting, they heard strange noises and rushed to the riverbank, thinking their siblings were doing something perverse, but found them just playing water guns with Dakini, who happily invited the two to join. Yukito had given Dakini a simple plan: use her power to win over Gia’s children. When Dakini asked about the plan’s simplicity, Yukito explained that he wanted to quickly save those children. A family should be natural, not a tool for Gia to increase her power, which she would surely discard once her purpose was achieved.
Kai and Cyan angrily scolded their younger siblings for breaking the family law set by Gia, which forbade playing with outsiders. The frightened little ones huddled beside Dakini, insisting that playing with her was fun and that “Mother Gia” would surely understand. Despite Dakini’s efforts to intercede, Kai and Cyan remained rigid. Their dismissive question, “What the hell is family? We don’t understand,” made Dakini realize something was deeply wrong with the two oldest children.
Just as she finished speaking, a wild beast emerged from the stream, followed by several more. Dakini was startled and quickly moved to shield the little ones. Kai, prioritizing “law,” ordered the beasts—which he and Cyan had borrowed from Gia—to attack, vowing to destroy anyone who harmed their family. Dakini was forced into a hasty retreat with the children. As she ran, she cursed Yukito, frustrated that an Archon like her had to flee low-level beasts, blaming her lack of power on his theft of her followers.
Kai and Cyan pursued, empowered by the borrowed wild beasts. The narrative flashes back to Cyan’s past: artificially produced in the Imperial Capital, she was assigned to a family who treated her kindly, fostering a deep love for them. This happiness was shattered when soldiers raided her home to summon her father for the End of Life duty. When Cyan cried and begged them not to take him, her “parents” looked at her with contempt. She was then banished to a Dakini village. On the way, she met Kai. By then, Cyan was filled with darkness, believing she had been deceived about what “family” was, as her parents were replaceable citizens. Their vehicle was attacked by a wild beast, and as Kai and Cyan hid, Gia appeared and saved them. Gia listened to their stories of abandonment, approached the grieving Cyan, and hugged her, claiming to understand her pain. Cyan’s reaction was to slap Gia’s face, but Gia only smiled and invited them to start over, promising to create a “real family” for them.
Back in the present, Kai and Cyan pursued Dakini’s group until they reached the edge of the forest, where Yukito’s group was waiting. Atar had already eliminated the wild beasts Gia had loaned them. Yukito stepped forward, intending to enlighten the two kids “physically and mentally.” As Cyan raised her bow to shoot Yukito, the ground shook violently. Mitama shouted for Yukito to run. Gia appeared from behind Yukito, laughing maniacally, having been there all along. She accused Yukito of successfully distracting her with a fake band to destroy her family. Yukito shouted back, reminding Gia this was just his first step, and if she continued to secretly increase her power, he would conquer her entire cult. “The future? There won’t be any future anymore,” Gia retorted.
The ground grew more turbulent, and a giant worm—the terrifying Typhon—erupted from underground. Gia, though forced to act early, was willing to go all-out. Kai and Cyan ran to their “mother’s” side, but Gia smiled, praised them for protecting the family, and then the ground beneath them turned to mud, sinking Kai and Cyan. Gia showed no emotion to Cyan’s pleas, revealing her lack of understanding of what family truly meant.
Yukito’s group was now running for their lives. The Typhon was too powerful; even Atar’s full-power attacks caused no damage. The monster counterattacked with an energy beam. Mitama strained her muscles to create a protective barrier, realizing this was all she could do. Seeing the dire situation, Yukito urged Mitama to do what she did with Dakini: beg the deity Gia to withdraw the Archon’s power. Mitama immediately refused, explaining that unlike Dakini, the deity Gia could not be communicated with. Aruraru and Shiruriru drove up in Yukito’s modified, high-speed car, allowing them to easily outrun the monster.
After escaping, a shell-shocked Yukito asked what the monster was. A young boy in the car spoke up, identifying it as Typhon, the strongest wild beast Gia could summon. He explained that Typhon required no energy to control and was very obedient, requiring only a successful summon. The boy, who carried a book on ancient history predating the Imperial Capital, revealed that he knew this because it was written in the book. Yukito was dumbfounded by the child’s genius, realizing he was a major asset.
Yukito moved closer, about to ask the child for strategic advice on escaping the monster, whose true body was much larger than what they had seen. As the ground shook violently, two children were nearly thrown from the car. Yukito grabbed their hands but was pulled out himself. As soon as he hit the ground, the Typhon pierced his stomach, and Mitama jumped out of the car to reach him. Both were then swallowed by the monster.
The group drove back to the village dejectedly, losing all hope that Yukito and Mitama could have survived such a situation. They lamented the loss of the two who had brought the village together, realizing that even Atar’s immense power was insufficient to overcome this crisis.
Yukito awoke to find himself tied up in a strange, unsettling room, where Gia appeared to him in a new form. This space, he learned, was created inside the monstrous entity named Typhon. Gia confessed that she’d failed to kill Yukito despite having tried about 300 times, as Mitama’s power would instantly resurrect him whenever he stopped breathing, suggesting Mitama’s strong affection for him. Gia then shockingly kissed Yukito and turned her attention to his “little brother.”
Meanwhile, back at Dakini village, Aruraru rallied the depressed villagers, assuring them that Mitama’s divine power guaranteed the duo’s safety. Just then, the necklace Yukito gave her glowed, and a copy of Mitama emerged, confirming Yukito and the others were unharmed.
Gia continued to recount her past to Yukito, revealing she was the only Archon who retained her pre-creation memories. She lived when the world was a scientific, carefree utopia, before a deviant cult arose to establish deity worship. Gia’s own mother founded a cult and used Gia as a tool to attract followers, even carving symbols into her body, which twisted Gia’s mind. The climax saw Gia murder her mother, after which she was captured and turned into an Archon. Gia grabbed Yukito’s hair, telling him he smelled like her old mother—a scent of deception and mind control. She declared that this was the sole reason his cult grew so rapidly. Hating deity worshipers, Gia choked Yukito, vowing to destroy him and the Archons if they brought back that belief. As Yukito’s consciousness faded, he wondered if he was dying.
At that moment, a massive commotion erupted outside Typhon: Aruraru’s group, the performance troupe, and all the followers shouted Yukito’s name. Having been helped so much by Yukito and Mitama, they were now repaying the favor. Holding a microphone, Aruraru demanded Gia, who watched everything, to release their comrade.
The performance began with Aruraru singing. Roy’s cheerleading team cheered enthusiastically, rapidly restoring Atar’s power. Feeling recharged, Atar signaled Bertrand, tossing her an instrument to take over the performance, before rushing off to pierce Typhon’s head with a strike.
Dakini diligently played her instrument until Rishu approached from behind, embracing her and whispering a plea to save the children for Rishu and her late mother. Unable to refuse this wish, Dakini drew a heart and attacked Typhon with her power of love. Though it caused no direct damage, the affected Typhon heads began to turn and attack their own body. Atar flew around, landing attacks while Roy’s cheerleading continued its enthusiastic support. This entire counter-attack plan was devised by Aruraru and Shiruriru, based on Yukito’s teachings: a deity’s power is strengthened by the unity and enthusiasm of their followers.
Inside Typhon, Gia calmly sipped wine, convinced the attack was futile. Instantly, Typhon’s heads regrew and retaliated, bombarding Aruraru’s group. Suddenly, vines grew and tightly bound Typhon, surprising Shiruriru but not Atar, who noted that if Mitama was alive, her power would also have been boosted just like hers.
Mitama, inside Typhon, complained that she was exhausted from controlling the creature, leaving their fate dependent on Aruraru’s group and Yukito. Yukito loudly called out to Gia, who was nearby. Gia menacingly approached, asking if he wanted more torture, but Yukito headbutted her and sighed in relief. He admitted he’d been having strange, unusual thoughts, which he realized Gia had been injecting into his mind. Gia laughed, declaring that discovering her trick wouldn’t change his situation.
Mitama called out to Yukito, understanding that their current power level couldn’t win. She reasoned things would change if Yukito became her follower. Yukito played along, asking her to untie him first, promising to become her follower afterward. Mitama fell for the simple trick. Once freed, Yukito smirked, revealing he had to use that ruse, knowing if he had simply begged, she’d have claimed to be out of power. Seeing his comrades still fighting hard outside, it was time for Yukito to fight back against Gia.
Yukito kicked a table at Gia and rushed to attack. As Gia fell, a wild beast suddenly erupted from her stomach and countered the attack. As Yukito stumbled, Gia burst out laughing, informing him that, unlike Dakini and Loki, she was very skilled in close combat.
The external defenses of the vines failed to contain Typhon. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, the Child initiated Plan Two, recalling Yukito’s instructions to manage the cult in his absence. He urgently commanded Aruraru and Shiruriru to gather everyone around Atar, signaling it was time for her to fulfill a crucial duty. Promised a room full of ice cream by Aruraru, Atar immediately agreed. She took the stage alone, speaking under the spotlight with tears in her eyes.
Atar first thanked her loyal followers, then announced her decision to relinquish her divine position, asking them to worship Mitama instead. The followers, naturally confused, asked what her role would be afterward. Rishu intervened, snatching the microphone and explaining that Atar, who had been served as a deity, would now have to serve the followers. The Dakini cult would be responsible for her training, conditional on all her followers transferring their worship to Mitama. This mass transfer of faith instantly empowered Mitama.
With her new strength, Mitama easily broke Gia’s bindings and escaped. She immediately summoned a giant tree person to combat Typhon, while Yukito directly engaged Gia. Protected by Mitama’s resurrection power, Yukito fought Gia head-on, ignoring her attacks. Gia angrily pinned him to the wall, declaring that his infinite resurrections were meaningless since he still felt pain. She vowed to kill him repeatedly until the sheer agony drove him insane.
Before she could act on her threat, a branch pierced through Gia’s chest. Yukito escaped and revealed his strategy: his frontal assault was merely a distraction to allow Mitama to land the finishing blow. With that, Gia and Typhon exploded. Aruraru’s group rushed in to pick up the survivors. Thanks to Mitama’s power, Yukito was perfectly unharmed by the explosion and was greeted with a tearful, celebratory hug from Aruraru and the others.
Gia, having survived the blast, lay on the ground, accepting her defeat and anticipating her punishment. Kai moved to execute her with his knife, but Cyan stopped him, tearfully begging him to calm down. The Child also stepped in, suggesting Cyan should be the one to decide Gia’s fate. Gia closed her eyes, remembering her past—killing her mother, being exploited by both her family and Congress—her life defined only by others using her.
At that moment, Cyan cried and hugged Gia, telling her that while she might have been a clumsy parent, their time together and the emotions Gia showed were real, not fabricated. Cyan pleaded with Gia to start over and rebuild their family.
The conflict ended with a massive celebration. Atar was handing out ice cream when Roy approached, saying it was time for her to “fulfill her duty” to satisfy everyone, only for Rishu to appear and drag him away, suggesting he needed more “mental training.”
Gia and Cyan were talking when Yukito arrived with Kai. Yukito announced that Gia’s cult would now be under the protection of Mitama’s cult, and to prevent future incidents, he was giving supervisory authority to Kai. Gia smirked, threatening to “tame Kai” once more, but Yukito was unfazed. He revealed he had already exploited Kai’s weakness: Kai likes Cyan. This explained why neither Dakini nor Gia could seduce him. Yukito had successfully recruited Kai by appealing to his desire to both help himself and ensure Cyan would not be manipulated by Gia again.
With the immediate crisis resolved, the cult had experienced a boom in strength. Yukito was astonished to see that Mitama’s follower count had soared to 300,000. Even factoring in all of Atar’s former devotees, this rapid surge was surprising. It was soon revealed that Loki had been assisting the cult from a distance.
When confronted by Yukito, Loki stopped hiding and explained her motives: she helped in part because she didn’t want her rival, Mitama, to be defeated too easily, and in part because she feared the immense damage Typhon would have inflicted on the Imperial capital. After a quick exchange of playful insults with Yukito, Loki promptly departed.
Later, while Yukito was lost in thought by a stream, Aruraru and Shiruriru came to find him. With them, Yukito opened up, reflecting on how he first met Aruraru at this very spot and was brought into the village. He acknowledged that despite all the hardships, he had been profoundly happy with them. He emphasized that the memories and life they had built in the village were irreplaceable. Yukito affirmed, with determination, that he would protect them all, whatever the cost.
No sooner had he finished speaking than Roy’s group and the others ambushed him, splashing him with wine as a “punishment” for trying to sneak away alone. As the group continued to celebrate raucously by the stream, Aruraru and Shiruriru reached out their hands, inviting Yukito to escape the chaos with them. Laughing, Yukito took their hands, concluding that even with the existence of deities, this was a world well worth living in.
