The scene shifts to the adventurer’s guild, where A doesn’t want to be. Jasper reassures him, saying that people might think his goods are fake, but everything will be fine with him around. Everyone is surprised to see Jasper and wonders who A is. The receptionist greets them and tries to call the Guild Master, but Jasper tells her it’s unnecessary since he’s just accompanying A.
The receptionist asks A what he needs, and he says he wants to sell items he collected from dungeons. Jasper tells her that he will buy everything A sells. The receptionist asks for A’s guild card, and when she sees it, she’s shocked to find out he’s only an F-ranked adventurer with the Appraiser class. She doubts that an Appraiser can defeat monsters and tells Jasper that A must be deceiving him. Other adventurers agree, thinking A is just a weak, low-ranked member.
Jasper asks A to prove himself. A then takes out a pile of rare monster materials, shocking the receptionist and the adventurers. They can’t believe an Appraiser could defeat such powerful monsters, assuming he must have stolen them. A realizes this is why he didn’t want to come—he hates drawing attention and being looked down on.
The Guild Master, Megan, arrives and tells everyone to stop judging people by their job. She examines A and notices that he has a keen eye. He wonders if she recognizes that one of his items is an artifact. The receptionist finishes appraising the goods and confirms they are all real. Jasper vouches for A, stating he is strong enough to defeat these monsters. The receptionist apologizes, and Megan asks A to forgive her, promising to deal with the receptionist later. She adds that even if fate is decided at birth, some people refuse to stay in their assigned roles. A is glad to hear this and feels coming here was the right decision. Megan tells him she likes having people like him in the guild and says they will meet again soon.
The receptionist asks A to wait while she processes the items, but Jasper tells A to show her the loot from the secret dungeon he cleared. Everyone is amazed to hear this and crowds around him, asking for details. Overwhelmed, A runs away.
Later, A takes a bath, thinking that he doesn’t like being looked down on, but all the attention also felt strange. Yuri suddenly appears, commenting on the beautiful moon. A agrees but is shocked to see her in the bath. He also notices Pina is there. He asks why they are in the men’s bath, and Pina says the rules of men don’t apply to them since they are spirits. She teases him, asking if he’s embarrassed after seeing her sister naked. A and Yuri both blush.
Pina jokes that at this rate, they will have a half-spirit baby. Ursula then arrives, determined to stop this, declaring that she won’t let A take Yuri. She warns that if he even touches her, she will blast him away. Yuri defends A, calling him a wonderful man. Ursula worries that she is too late and prepares to attack, but A somehow escapes the situation.
He then sits on a chair to relax and notices Kohime nearby. She comments that it’s been a while since things were this lively and says she was right to send Pina with him. A asks if Pina is like a daughter to her, and Kohime confirms, explaining that the Guardians created the spirit cores and the egos that formed in the girls.
A realizes that, in a way, the spirits were like children born from the Guardian Trees. He thinks there are six more pairs like Yuri and Pina, but Kohime corrects him, saying there are actually seven. She mentions that the first tree withered long ago, but its spirit core wasn’t completely destroyed. A is surprised to learn that the first spirit is still alive. Kohime tells him that the elder sister, Akida, must still be out there with her guardian, though no one knows where she is. They also don’t know the locations of the other dungeons containing the remaining Guardian Trees. A sees this as a serious problem.
Kohime asks if he’s giving up, but A firmly says no. He is determined to help Yuri find her family and will do whatever it takes. Seeing his resolve, Kohime thinks that A has a special power that naturally draws people to him.
The next day, A walks around the mansion, deciding to gather as much information as possible. He notices Megan is there. Jasper tells him that the Guild Master has a request for him. A wonders why she needs him specifically when she could assign the task to anyone. Megan explains that this is something only he can do. She asks if he knows about the Behemoth. A doesn’t, so she explains that it’s an ancient dragon created by the Demon King Mikarin. After the Demon King was sealed away, the Behemoth went into hiding, but it has recently resurfaced and is attacking merchants and cargo in the area.
Megan wants A to take down this SS-rank monster. A hesitates upon hearing its rank, but Jasper and Megan encourage him to think about it. Realizing Megan is in a tough situation, A agrees to the quest. Jasper sees this as proof that A has a heart worthy of his power, and Megan tells him she’s counting on him.
The scene shifts to a desert, where A asks Ursula if the Behemoth is really there. She confirms it and says she has already pinpointed its location. She explains that this Earth Dragon can absorb spells and use them as its own. It can also fire powerful air projectiles, called Helix Bullets, that can cut through space itself. A realizes that magic won’t work against it, so he will have to rely on his sword and skills. Ursula tells him that the dragon hides underground during the day, so A must lure it out.
A uses a fire spell to disturb the dragon’s slumber. The Behemoth emerges, furious. It begins talking about its past, saying it has never been defeated since the Demon Lord created it. From birth, it possessed immense power, and because no one has ever been a threat to it, the world has become boring.
In the present, the dragon assumes A is another weakling, though it acknowledges that A’s magic is stronger than expected. However, since magic doesn’t work on it, the dragon isn’t worried. It asks who A is, and A boldly introduces himself, declaring that he has come to defeat it. The dragon laughs, finding it ridiculous that a mere human thinks he can win. It boasts about being created by the Demon Lord and being invincible since birth. A, unimpressed, thinks that if this dragon is the Demon Lord’s creation, then the Demon Lord must not have been that powerful either.
Hearing A insult the Demon Lord, the Behemoth becomes enraged and attacks, but A skillfully dodges. He taunts the dragon, saying its attacks don’t matter if they can’t hit him. The dragon then manipulates the sand to trap A, but he evades it and slashes off the dragon’s arm. The Behemoth is shocked—its body is supposed to be as tough as orichalcum.
The dragon quickly burrows underground, planning a surprise attack. A wonders where it will strike from. The dragon is confident that A won’t see it coming and prepares to launch a final ambush. As it resurfaces, it swallows A whole, believing the battle is over.
However, a moment later, the dragon’s mouth explodes into tiny pieces. Overwhelmed by pain, the Behemoth realizes it has been completely defeated. With its final breath, it asks A how he managed to kill it. A calmly explains that he cast an ultimate spell from inside its body.
A explains to the dragon that his appraisal revealed only its outer hide could absorb magic. The dragon is confused, thinking A should have also been caught in the explosion. However, A shows that he used a barrier to protect himself. He then reveals that he cast an illusion spell on the dragon the moment they met. When the dragon went underground, it was only chasing a shadow. A admits that he tricked the dragon, but a being of its power should have noticed. He tells the dragon that it lost because of its arrogance toward humankind.
Realizing the truth, the dragon acknowledges that it was defeated the moment they met. With its last breath, it praises A before dying.
Afterward, A seems troubled, and Ursula asks what’s wrong. He admits that while the dragon did terrible things, it was only acting as the Demon Lord created it to be. He wonders what it could have been like if it hadn’t been influenced by the Demon Lord. Ursula tells him not to overthink it—the dragon attacked humans and died without ever trying to change its ways. A understands and appraises the dragon’s abilities, making them his own.
The girls then come out and praise A for defeating the dragon, saying he is really strong. However, he insists that his strength comes from them.
The scene shifts to A and his friends at the royal castle. Claudia arrives to meet them and apologizes for not visiting A, even though she is supposed to be his second wife. A reminds her that they aren’t married yet. Claudia then explains that her father, the King, wanted to meet him.
The King enters the room, making A nervous. He greets the King as politely as he can, but the King tells him to relax. Yuri and Claudia sit beside A, clinging to him. The King, amused, says he is proud that his daughter’s future husband is so well-liked. A wonders if the King is an idiot and quickly regrets being so informal. However, the King is glad that A has calmed down.
The King mentions that he has heard of A’s victory over the Behemoth and thanks him. A humbly replies that he only did what was right. The King says that A is exactly as his daughter described—strong, handsome, and never arrogant.
The King also recalls that A not only defeated the Behemoth but also saved his daughter, so he bows his head in gratitude. A quickly asks him to raise his head, saying that Yuri deserves the credit since, without her power, he wouldn’t have been able to do anything. The King thanks Yuri as well.
He then states that he is a good judge of character and sees that A is someone who does not get drunk on power. He believes A will become a great man and looks forward to seeing his future.
Before leaving, the King gives A a watch engraved with the royal crest. He explains that with this, A can travel freely wherever he wants. A is unsure if he deserves such an honor but decides to keep it since it will help with his investigation.
Meanwhile, in town, people are talking about how A defeated the Behemoth. One man accidentally bumps into Zoid and tells him to watch where he’s going. Annoyed, Zoid is furious that everyone is praising A. He remembers how, not long ago, he was stronger than A and thinks that things would be better if A didn’t exist.
Just then, the eldest of Yuri’s sisters, Idna, appears before him. Revealing herself as a spirit, she tells him that she can help him.
